As Jeanettra reminisces on the events of a church service years ago, she now knows what the prophetess meant. She remembers being young and not very attentive to the service. Suddenly, the prophetess chose her out of a small crowd of worshipers. She wondered then, if she had selected the right person. But yet, she beckoned once again for her to approach the pulpit. Once she made it to the front of the church, the prophetess begin to tell her that she would work with children and be an example to them. At the time her thoughts were simply o.k.
It has been 25 years or more since the prophet foresaw her destiny as an educator. Fulfilling her destiny, she would go on to pursue an education earning not only Bachelor of Science degree but double Masters degrees as well. She has a Bachelor 's degree in Secondary Biology, Masters in Curriculum and Instructor and a Masters degree in Educational Leadership. Now a veteran teacher for Chicago Public schools, District 299, she has served in several capacities both in and outside of the classroom. She assisted in writing and landing a grant in the amount of 1.2 million dollars from the WEEA. At the high school level she has written science curriculum frameworks as well as district- wide assessments. She currently serves as the South Regional Science Fair Coordinator as well as the Safety Co- Chairperson for the CPS City Science Fair.
As a life- long learner she recently, was selected as a Wipro/MSU fellow, Despite her busy schedule she listens to the voices that lead her to clearance racks in her favorite department stores. A girl can never have too many shoes. Her significant other thinks other wise, but Men are from Mars and women are from......Women just are!
